My isn't a JW and I used to hear all about how the girls at her cafe really liked me and one of them wanted to ask me out..........I was stoked to tell you the truth.....
So although she didn't really find me any dates, she made damn sure I knew that girls other than the dubbo's existed !!!!!

Verbally abused by a JW - why?

he said the job was good.
i told him i'd been to my cousin's funeral, which was pretty sad - he was only 46. my jw friend asked me whether i believed the bible to be the word of god to which i replied yes.

You friend sounds mentally and emotionally unstable. If he was swearing and cussing then that is not in keeping with the JW way of doing things. I have to say that JW have a tendency to attract emotionally unstable people though. Saw that plenty over the 30 years as a JW.
Balsam I agree entirely with Balsam, your mate might have some real issues with his own certainty, or may just havesome problems with his mental health...... Its bloody hard not too, but don't ditch him just yet...............

It's totally obvious to the critical, analytical mind...but we know that dubs don't possess that type of mind do they !

This is great!!!
It was a bit like that for us growing up, my Dad has 4 brothers and 2 sisters.....now, 1 brother is a JW (since the 70's), 1 sister is a JW (disfellowshipped but still attending), 1 sister is a devout Mormon, another brother was a member of the Church of God (another strange denomination).....the rest are sane.
The discussions and disagreements that went on were so funny, just imagine how they felt when my Mormon auntie's daughter married a 'faded' son of JW's !!!!!
The dub ones were pretty tight-lipped and embarrased about that, but still found satisfaction in that my Mormon-raised cousins joined the Army......

1) The subtle domination of rank and file by untrained, unqualified men.
2) The domination of men over women, not only in the organization but in their mindset of day-to-day living.
3) The subtle mind control techniques that invariably fuck-up the minds of all JW's, young and old......how hard was it to adjust to normal thinking !!!!!!!
4) The focus on destruction of all who don't follow this "Jehovah and his earthly organization". The negative, deathly mind-set cleverly shrouded by a belief in a future paradisaic, love-filled earth.
5) The requirement that your blood-family no longer comes before all else, and the way they influence the mind to put theocracy before true family. This was one of my major turn-aways, how could a 60 year old man with no connection whatsoever to me tell how un-important my brothers and sisters are, and how I should treat them/view them. No one tells me how to think or live......
GET FUCKED BROOKLYN AND YOUR MEN, I'd bring the whole fucken' thing down !!!!
